I am a wife, mother, homemaker, medical doctor.
In that order.
(but when my daughter catches a cold, the M.D. disappears and I’m just like any other panicky mom)
During my brief stint at the hospital, I’ve had my share of writing progress notes — those sheets of paper tucked in a patient’s medical chart where doctors document what happened during the course of a patient’s medical care. These important records serve as a “repository of medical facts and clinical thinking, and are intended to be a concise vehicle of communication about a patient’s condition to those who access the health record 1.”
Nowadays, though I am mostly at home, I still find myself writing progress notes — of a different kind. In these humble pages tucked in the vast world wide web, I document my progress as a homemaker. May these records serve as a repository of home-making realities/ discoveries/ experiments and life-giving thinking, offered to be a concise vehicle of communication about God’s grace to those who access it.
Journey with me.
Blessings,
Joanne
